Outgrowing What Once Fit.
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, I talk about what it means to up grow what once felt normal.
As you begin living from alignment, your identity, standards, and availability start to shift. Things that once made sense may not longer feel aligned—not because they are wrong, but because you are not longer the same version of yourself.
This conversation explores how growth changes what fits, and how to move forward without forcing yourself to stay where you’ve already evolved.

SPEAKER_01Welcome
When Alignment Starts Changing Your Life
SPEAKER_01back to the Mindfully Recharged podcast. I'm your host, Marianna Thomas, and today we're continuing this conversation on alignment. But now we're looking at what begins to change around you. Because once you start living from alignment, it's not just your internal world that shifts. It's what holds your attention. It's what you feel available for. And sometimes that shift can feel subtle at first, but undeniable. At some point, growth stops being about what you add and starts being about what you're no longer available for. Not because something is wrong, not because you're rejecting anything, but because you're seeing more clearly. This is an identity shift. Outgrowing what once fit isn't about the situation. It's about you. You're not the same version of yourself anymore. Your awareness has expanded. Your nervous system is different. Your priorities have shifted. So naturally, what once made sense doesn't land the same way now. And this isn't something you force. It happens as a result of the work you've already done.
The Confusing Gap Where Growth Lives
SPEAKER_01The confusion that comes with it. This is where it gets confusing for a lot of people. Because nothing looks dramatically different on the outside. The same conversations are happening. The same opportunities are there. The same environments exist. But internally, something has shifted. And you can feel that difference. Part of you remembers how things used to feel. And another part of you knows that it doesn't feel that way anymore. That gap is where growth lives. Your standards are changing. Alignment quietly raises your standards. Not in a loud or performative way, but in a very honest way. You start noticing what drains your energy faster, what feels forced instead of natural, what requires effort just to stay engaged. And once you notice that, it becomes harder to ignore it. Because awareness changes your relationship with everything. Availability. This is
Being Less Available Without Rejecting
SPEAKER_01where the shift becomes real. You don't need to reject anything. You don't need to make big decisions. You're just no longer available for certain things. That could be conversations that don't feel meaningful. Commitments that don't reflect your current priorities. Environments that no longer support your growth. And this doesn't come from judgment, it comes from alignment. I experienced
A Real Example From Constant Travel
SPEAKER_01this in my own life with something that used to feel very normal to me. For years I would travel to conferences multiple times a year. It felt like something I had to do, to stay connected, to stay informed, to continue growing. And at that time, it made sense. That version of me was in a different place. Learning in that environment, expanding in that way. But over time, something shifted. Not overnight, just gradually. I started noticing that the constant travel didn't feel as aligned anymore. Not because I stopped valuing growth, but because I realized I didn't need to be everywhere to continue growing. I didn't need to prove that I was staying connected. I didn't need to keep doing something just because it had worked before. And that awareness changed everything. Because once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. I could still go. I could still participate. But it wouldn't feel the same. And that's when I understood. This isn't about the conference. This is about me. About how I've changed. About what fits now. And that gave me permission to choose differently, not dramatically, just honestly.
You Do Not Need To Explain Growth
SPEAKER_01You don't need to explain your growth. This is important. You don't need to explain your shifts to everyone. You don't need to justify why something no longer works for you. You don't need to convince people that your choices make sense. Growth is not something you perform. It's something you live. And not everyone needs to understand it. How to move through this.
How To Move Through Shifts Gently
SPEAKER_01So what do you do when you start noticing these shifts? You don't rush to change everything. You don't cut things off abruptly. You don't force decisions. You observe. You listen. You allow the awareness to guide your choices over time. Alignment isn't about dramatic moves. It's about consistent honesty. Small clear choices that reflect who you are now.
Outgrowing Is Clarity Not Loss
SPEAKER_01My final message to you on this episode is that outgrowing something isn't a loss. It's clarity. It's a reflection of the work you've done. And it's a sign that you're becoming more aligned with yourself. Not more perfect, just more honest. Thank you so much for being here and for continuing this journey with me. If something feels different lately, trust that awareness. Stay present. Take care of yourself. Don't
