In this episode, I talk about the discomfort that can come with living from alignment.

While alignment brings clarity and steadiness, it can also feel unfamiliar at first. Old patterns no longer fit, decisions feel different, and space replaces urgency.

This doesn't mean something is wrong.

It means something is shifting.

In this conversation, I explore what that discomfort actually means and how to move through it without second-guessing yourself.

I'm your host Mariana Thomas, and today we're continuing the conversation on alignment, but from a different angle. In the last episode, we talked about what changes when you start living from alignment. Today we're talking about something that doesn't get mentioned as often, the discomfort that comes with it. Because here's the truth. Alignment doesn't always feel peaceful. Sometimes it feels unfamiliar. Sometimes it feels like uncertainty. Sometimes it even feels like something is off. And if you don't understand what's happening, it's easy to think you're doing something wrong, but you're not. You are probably asking yourself why it feels this way. And the answer is that when you start living from alignment, you stop overriding yourself. And that changes everything. You notice more, you feel more, you become more aware of what fits and what doesn't. And that awareness can feel uncomfortable at first. Not because something is wrong, but because something is different. So what is actually happening is you're no longer operating from habit. You're no longer saying yes automatically. You're no longer moving just because you should. So now there's space. And space can feel unfamiliar because we're so used to filling it with action, with decisions, with noise. Alignment removes that. And what's left is presence. So let me give you some real life examples. This can show up in simple ways. You say no to something and then question it later. Not because it was wrong, but because it's new. You're in a conversation that used to feel normal. And now it doesn't land the same way. You don't feel the need to rush a decision anymore, and that stillness feels uncomfortable. You choose rest, and part of you wonders if you should be doing more. This is a personal story. I experienced this recently when I was invited to be part of something that on the surface looked like a great opportunity. It made sense. It checked all the boxes. But something in me felt off, not wrong, just not aligned. And I noticed the old pattern come up. The part of me that would have said yes to be polite or to not miss out. But this time, I paused. I didn't rush the decision. I let myself sit with it. And the more I did, the clearer it became that saying no was the right choice. Even though it felt uncomfortable, not dramatic, not heavy, just unfamiliar. And that's when I realized, this is what alignment feels like sometimes. Not loud, not obvious, just honest. So how to reframe this? Discomfort doesn't mean something is wrong. It means something is changing. Your patterns are shifting. Your awareness is expanding. Your decisions are becoming more intentional. And that takes adjustment. And my final message on this episode to you is: you don't need to rush to feel comfortable again. You don't need to go back to what felt familiar. You just need to stay with yourself long enough for this new way of being to feel natural. Because it will. And to close, thank you for being here and for continuing this journey with me. If things feel a little different right now, that's okay. Stay present. Take care of yourself. And I'll see you in the next episode. Don't forget to download the PDF that goes with this episode, and I hope it helps you with what you hear. Until next time, stay mindfully recharged.
