In this episode, I talk about what it really means to trust your inner timing and release the pressure to move at someone else's pace.

Through personal reflection and a story from my own journey, I share how alignment often matters more than speed-- and how waiting until something truly feels right can lead to clearer decisions, steadier progress, and more confidence in your path.

If you've been questioning your timing or feeling the urge to rush into your next step, this episode is a gentle reminder that your pace is not a problem --it's part of your wisdom.

SPEAKER_00:

Hello my friends, and welcome back to Mindfully Recharged Podcast. This is your host, Mariana Thomas. Today's conversation is for anyone who feels like they should be moving faster, deciding sooner, or pushing themselves harder than what actually feels right. Because what I want to talk about today is something we rarely give ourselves permission to do. Learning to trust our inner timing, not society's timeline, not comparison, not pressure, your timing. Why this is hard. Most of us were never taught how to trust ourselves. We were taught to meet deadlines, to keep up, to push through, to override discomfort. So when life asks us to slow down, pause, or wait, it can feel uncomfortable, even scary. We start asking, what if I miss my chance? What if I fall behind? What if nothing happens if I stop pushing? But here's the truth. Urgency is often fear. Timing is clarity. And they feel very different in the body. Urgency versus intuition. Urgency feels loud, tight, anxious, like something bad will happen if you don't act right now. Intuition or inner timing feels quieter, steady, grounded, clear. It doesn't rush you, it guides you. When we learn to pause long enough to notice the difference, everything changes. Trust me on this one. I want to share a personal example of what trusting inner timing has looked like in my own life. Because this episode is something I've had to live, not just talk about. Last year I actually tried to restart this podcast. I recorded two, maybe three episodes, and on paper everything was fine. I had the time, I had the tools, I had the experience, but something felt off. The episodes didn't feel aligned, I didn't feel connected to what I was saying. And instead of pushing myself to release them just to get back out there, I stopped. And that wasn't easy because when you see other people continuing, posting, releasing, staying visible, it's easy to think, what are people going to think of me? Am I falling behind? But deep down I knew I wasn't ready yet. So I waited. And when I restarted the podcast recently, the difference was undeniable. I felt grounded, clear, connected. The words flowed. The message made sense. I wasn't forcing anything. That's what trusting your inner timing can look like. It doesn't always look productive from the outside, but it feels aligned on the inside. Waiting didn't mean I failed. It meant I honored the moment when I was truly ready. Why slowing down isn't falling behind? Slowing down doesn't mean you're stuck. It doesn't mean you're lazy. And it definitely doesn't mean you're failing. Often it means your nervous system is recalibrating. You're building capacity, like I mentioned in the past episode. You're integrating what you've already learned. Growth doesn't always look like movement. Sometimes it looks like preparation, and preparation is not wasted time. What trusting your inner timing actually looks like. Trusting your inner timing might look like saying not yet instead of forcing a yes. Resting when you feel pressure to perform. Letting clarity come instead of chasing it. Releasing timelines that don't belong to you. It's not passive, it's intentional, you're still moving forward, just without self-betrayal. A simple check-in practice. Here's a question you can ask yourself when you feel rushed. Am I acting from clarity or from fear of being behind? And another one. If no one was watching, what pace would feel right for me? Your body usually knows the answer before your mind catches up. Now let's talk about releasing external timelines. We all absorb timelines that were never meant for us. Someone else's success, someone else's speed, someone else's chapter. But comparison disconnects you from your own rhythm. And when you disconnect from your rhythm, you stop trusting yourself. Your timing doesn't need approval to be valid. I want to leave you with this reminder. You don't need to rush your life to be on the right path. Trusting your inner timing is an act of self-leadership. It's choosing alignment over urgency, clarity over pressure. If this conversation resonated with you, I've created a reflection worksheet to help you go deeper and reconnect with your own timing. You can download it through the link in the show notes. Thank you for being here, for listening, and for giving yourself permission to move at the pace that truly supports you. Until next time, take a breath, stay present, and trust yourself.
