Welcome, welcome. Welcome, everyone. This is your host, Mariana Thomas. Welcome to the Mindfully Recharged Podcast. Today, Ways to Stay Committed to Your Goals in 2022. Yes, let's get to that. We are almost in February. I'm recording this in January, but we're getting close to February and I want to make sure that you stay, stick, and stay with your goal. So without further ado, let's get to it.

Welcome, my friends. Yes. Another episode, Ways to Stay Committed to Your Goals. This is your host, Mariana Thomas. Welcome to the Mindfully Recharged Podcast. Super excited to talk about this because we are getting close to committing to our goals. I think if you probably already did and many of us are probably thinking about doing a vision board and making sure that we accomplish those goals this year and I definitely want to encourage you to do so. I'm working really hard on mine, you guys. So really, really hard. I'm going to challenge myself this year, allow my mentor to push me as much as I can because I do want to get to the next level. So let me ask you this. Are you committed to your goals for 2022?
Let’s pause there. I want you to think about that and truly answer that question. If not, now is the time to get focused and make a plan. So that's why I want to give you some tips to help you stay on track throughout this year because achieving your goals is a difficult and often discouraging process. Sometimes we start and we get going, and we get excited and then we stop. There are going to be moments when you feel like giving up and also the things that I'm talking about when you start and you stop in the middle and you tell yourself, “Ah, that's it. I'm going to stop right here.”. Is it worth it? Maybe maybe not, but that's just not the answer because it's not worth the effort to even consider that. You will have to push through those times to succeed, but there are ways of staying committed to your goals, even in those tough times. I’m telling you guys.

Here are some tips for how you can stay motivated every single day and yes, I'm not telling you it's gonna be easy. It's not, not even for me. I have to remind myself every single day to set achievable goals and not to become discouraged.
Mariana Thomas
So that is the first thing I want to remind you. Set up achievable goals, so you don’t become discouraged and don't worry about what other people think of your accomplishments. Yes, maybe you were very, very successful on the path, like me, and now you are working on getting back there or getting to the level that you were and more, you know because at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what people think of you. What matters is whether you accomplish your goals or not. What matters is if they matter to you. You are the most important person that those goals need to matter. If you have trouble staying motivated, because these goals don't matter as much, you got to ask yourself that question or talk to someone. Talk to someone who can provide you with support and encouragement. Okay, remind yourself of the benefits of meeting your goals so you will have a reason to keep going, when times get really tough because they are going to be tough. I’m telling you. They are getting tough for me.
Mariana Thomas 05:39
The next thing is not to compare yourself with other people because everyone has different goals and dreams and accomplishments. Everyone is at a different level so try working out to boost that moral, you know, maybe stay in silence. When you feel like you want to compare yourself with someone else, pause and ask yourself, “Is that true? Is that true? That thing that I'm thinking about right now? Is it true?”. The answer is probably no and maybe try to listen to music that motivates you and puts you in a different mood and makes you think other things, you know, so you can continue to push yourself to your goals versus focusing on comparing yourself with someone else because, guess what, no one is going to motivate you to achieve your goals, but yourself. Someone may be there for guidance, someone may be there to push a little bit to guide you, but no one can motivate you. You have to motivate yourself. You are always the best person for the job. So don't stand down, stand up, take the risks, and stay committed until you reach your destination because when you get there, you're going to feel like a hero. You're going to feel like you can reward yourself now.
Mariana Thomas 07:39
Another good thing to do is to try to get a mentor. Yes, I just got one myself and I'm super, super happy, and excited. The things that are going to be happening this year are going to be amazing. It is always great to have someone watching your back, encouraging you along the way, and always cheering you up, but remember, at the end of the day, you are the one they have to motivate yourself. That doesn't mean that getting a mentor is not going to help. Getting a mentor will help you to stay committed to what your goals are, but you have to do the work. It can be hard to stay committed on days that seem harder than others because they are going to happen, but I did some research and find out some good tips for staying motivated. So I'm going to give those to you but you get to do the work. This can help you a lot to achieve your goals. Maybe. Maybe no matter how hard they are, but again, it is up to you.
Mariana Thomas 09:03
One of the things that are important to do, and based on this research, is to reward yourself. Talking about your feelings with someone who can support you, listening to the music, that's rewarding. Managing your time. That's what the research also says. Time is a commodity, so don't waste it. Waste it on the things that are important to you. They are going to give you a result and always remember your why. Why did you start it in the first place? Why do you start in the first place? Why? And this question is a question that you must ask almost every single day especially when you feel down when you feel like you don't want to keep going.
Mariana Thomas 10:05
So let me give you other tips. It’s to write down your goals and keep them visible and that will be your vision board. You know when you create your vision board, but decide your word for the year before you do that and make it a schedule that you can stick with it. A manageable schedule and reasonable schedule, and take action to your goals every single day, based on that schedule and based on your goals. Find a support group if you don't feel like you can afford it or you want to get a mentor support group, or an accountability partner. I have both a mentor and an accountability partner.
Mariana Thomas 10:57
Celebrate each accomplishment along the way. This is something that I need to work on because I'm not big at celebrating. Yeah, when I was growing up, my mom used to celebrate every single birthday and that's probably why I love celebrating my birthday, but that’s it. I’m not a big celebration person, but you got to celebrate your accomplishments and don't give up when things get tough. Push through. Also, reflect on your progress, periodically. Yeah, make adjustments when it's needed and keep things in perspective. This is a good one, you know, everything is perspective. It’s all about that.

I hope that you can find this episode helpful in your journey to achieving your goals in 2022. I really do, you guys. Remember, while it's important to set big and ambitious goals for yourself, they can be met with some simple changes in habits or mindset that will help you to stay committed. Okay? These tips have helped me stay motivated over the years by reminding myself of what the end goal looks like that is not easy, but it's doable and I hope that it may do the same for you.
